– Wade Close to be bestowed prestigious honor for executive search and for commitment to volunteerism –

NEW YORK, March 4, 2010 –
The Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC), the worldwide professional association for the retained executive search industry, tonight will present the Eleanor Raynolds Award to E. Wade Close Jr., a Managing Director of Boyden’s Pittsburgh office.

The Eleanor Raynolds Award is presented to professionals who combine excellence in executive search with a strong commitment to volunteering in their communities. The award will be presented by Jim Hertlein, Board Member of AESC and Boyden World Corporation and Managing Director of Boyden’s Houston office. Mr. Close will receive the honor at a special awards dinner at the Metropolitan Club in New York.

“Wade truly represents the values that were important to the AESC when we first established the Eleanor Raynolds Award in 1993,” said Peter Felix, President of AESC. “In addition to his extensive leadership responsibilities at Boyden, he has given a tremendous amount of time and talent to working with several important non-profit and community organizations. We commend Wade’s passion toward serving the executive search profession and his dedication to helping others.”

Mr. Close joined Boyden in the mid 1980’s and specializes in senior-level management and board assignments for clients in the industrial and heavy industry segments as well as packaging and printing, healthcare and non-profit sectors. He is presently on the Board of the Brother's Brother Foundation (having served as Chairman and Treasurer) and previously served as a board member for the Fox Chapel District Association. In addition, Mr. Close served on the Board of The Pittsburgh Experiment.

“The Eleanor Raynolds Award is a very important honor in our industry as it recognizes consultants who not only excel in their profession, but also believe in giving back to the communities where they work and live,” said Boyden’s Mr. Hertlein. “Wade is truly inspiring and a great role model for executive search professionals.”

“We are very proud of Wade,” said Chris Clarke, President and CEO of Boyden World Corporation. “Helping our clients succeed by providing superior service is one of Boyden’s primary goals, but we also believe in helping build strong communities – whether it’s for volunteering at a school, non-profit or professional organization. Wade sets a great example for all of us here at Boyden.”
