Ulrich Schumann, Managing Partner of Boyden Germany and a partner in the Boyden World Corporation, has been working at the Düsseldorf office since 2001. He has been the head of the Boyden EMEA HiTec Practice Group since 2002 and Global Technology Practice Leader since 2006.

He gathered his consulting experience as a managing partner at H. Neumann International Management Consultants (Executive Search) in Berlin and Düsseldorf from 1998 to 2001.

From 1993 to 1998 he worked as a consultant and team leader IT/ telecommunications at ifp - Institut für Personal- und Unternehmensberatung in Cologne.

Right from the outset, Ulrich Schumann has concentrated on recruitment for executive positions and has specialized in the new industries in the high-tech sector, especially in telecommunications, new media and internet as well as IT (systems suppliers and users). Prior to that - as a project manager and field manager at Kohorten Sozial- und Wirtschaftsforschung in Offenbach - he implemented projects relating to advertising effectiveness, market and communication research, product tests and image studies in connection with brands for leading brand name manufacturers and financial services providers. Before that he worked as a research associate at the Institute for Applied and Clinical Psychology at the University of Bonn.

Ulrich Schumann studied psychology, social sciences and business management at the University of Marburg and of Bonn. He has a master’s degree in psychology.

The main focus areas of his consulting include recruitment for top management positions in the area of international IT, telecommunications and high-tech industries, new media and internet, as well as CIO, IT and EDP management positions. In addition, he is also active on behalf of companies in the automotive, industrial and retail sectors. Furthermore, Ulrich Schumann provides advisory services with regard to board position appointments and is involved in a confidential capacity as a personal coach for top-level executive personnel.
